Most of the tour operators’ and travel agencies offer a lot of tour packages. Apart from the usual city tours dhow cruises, 4WD Safaris, camping trips, camel trekking and scuba diving tours offered by most of the tour operators. Oman has numerous tour operators offering an exciting range of city, desert and mountain trips. Tour operators can tailor make tours for you. Trips often involve extreme driving over sand dunes or through wadis.

Coastal cruises
There are whales and dolphins either living in or passing through the seas off the coast of Oman. Although no tour operator can guarantee a sighting of these beautiful sea creatures, the odds are definitely high that you will get to see dolphins swimming alongside your boat and playing in its wake.

Mosque tours


Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
This beautiful example of Islamic architecture provides a wonderful insight into the cultural heritage of Oman.It is one of the few mosque that allows entry in Non-muslims.Mosque is a centre for scholar and houses an Islamic reference library containing over 20,000 sources of information on Islamic sciences and culture.The Mosque is lavishly decorated and you are allowed to take pictures of men’s and women prayer hall.The hours of the tours are restricted between 8.00 and 11.00 from Saturday to Wednesday.

Camel Racing
Camel racing is a popular traditional sport and you shouldn’t miss the chance to see it up close. The camels are bred especially for the tracks, and it is still Bedoulin families that raises and train them. The racing season run form August to April and races are held mainly on Friday and public holidays during the winter months. Race tracks are found all around the country .In the interiors you will find many other racing tracks, sometimes clearly signposted, along the main roads.

Nature Reserves
There is significant emphasis on the care and the protection of the Omani environment, such as conserving biodiversity and promoting eco tourism. Nature reserves have been established to prevent damage to the natural habitat of many different species including leopards, Oryx and various birds and fish.
