Dhow Building Yard
While Sur no longer produces vessels in the numbers, or the size, that once did, boat building is still an industry in the town.A visit to the boatyards is a fascinating experience, as craftsmen can be seen working without technical drawings or modern tools, employing methods that have been passed down from one generation to next. About three kilometers outside the town centre,you will see some hand crafted dhows dotted along the coastline.The yard is open from Saturday to Thursday.
