    Investment

Since there isn’t much investment on commercial aspect, Nizwa and Dakhiliya Region does have it share of investment on a small scale. Samail is also famous for its date palm trees which cover most of its area. Consequently, there are a number of date palm processing factories in the area. Weaving is also a traditional craft still practiced by its inhabitants Bahla is a good source of high quality clay, and there are many skilled potters in the area (all male – it is only in the southern regions of Oman that you’ll find female potters). You can see them working at the traditional pottery site, which is just past the souk. There is also a pottery factory, built by the government in the late 1980s, and the Alladawi clay pots workshop that boasts four industrial kilns each able to produce around a hundred pots each month. Clay pots are still used for practical purposes in Bahla, such as carrying and cooling water, and storing food and dates.
