Museums, Art Galleries, parks, beaches etc. are the main attractions in Oman. Oman is a land of many interesting archaeological sites also. Art is highly valued by Arabs. High quality, various style, peaceful surroundings are the main features of Art Galleries. Most of the forts are made of mud bricks and stones. Oman government plays an active role in preserving the country’s history and museums are an important way of doing this. Museums within the main areas of Muscat include- Children’s museum, Muscat Gate Museum, Omani French Museum, National Museum, Sultan’s Armed Forces Museum. The museums within other areas of Muscat are National History Museum, Omani Museum. The Marine Science and Fisheries Centre (MSFC) near Sidab, Oil and Gas Exhibition Centre are the other main attractions. Salalah Museum, Sohar Fort Museum, Sur Maritime Museum are the main Museums that located outsise Muscat.
Oman also offers some wonderful stretches of sandy beach. The main beaches are Azaiba Beach near Civil Recreation centre, Beach Promenade near Hyatt Regency, and Majan Beach near Ras Al Hamra Club. Beaches within other exploring areas of Oman are Ras Al Hadd Beach, Dibad- Tiwi Coast, Bandar Jassah. Oman has a good selection of parks and gardens. Parks are well looked after by the Municipality, and usually include lawns, sandy play areas and playground equipment for children. Entry to many of the parks is free.
The main coastal Cruises are Marina Bander Al Rowdha and Moon Light Diving Centre. Dolphin and Whale Watching is another main attraction. The Whale and Dolphin Research Group is part of the Environment Society of Oman. There are 22 species of dolphins and Whales in Oman and one of the best ways to see them is on Oman’s only glass-bottom boat. Muscat Diving and Adventure Centre and Oman Dive Centre are other main attractions.
The other main tour activities are Dune Dinner, Full- Day Safari, Mountain Safari, Overnight Turtle Watching, Wadi Drive, Wahiba Desert, and Overnight Desert Safari.
